Is it me or has this year flown by?
~ checks calendar to make sure I am writing in the right month~
It’s JULY!
Which means we are officially about halfway through this year
If I had to sum up my first half of 2024 in a few words, I would describe it as …
Rebuilding a more solid foundation, coming up with working mom routines that work for me, on the hunt for a puzzle and so close to finishing a book that I started in Jan 2023.
Let me explain what I mean:
My 2024 in review (so far!) – The Wins & The Woes as Working Mom from Home
First up, here are a few things I’m celebrating this year (aka – the wins / the amazing!!)
#1 – I have been looking for a certain puzzle for a family member for more than a year. I just heard back from a friend across the US that she may have found it. I am excited! I have been wanting to surprise her for so long.
#2: I was re-assessing my business for this mid-year review. It had me thinking about the foundations of my business and the direction where I would love to take it. I conducting market research, asking my people what they want, and truly listening to their needs while aligning with what I can provide. I slowed down my business to strengthen its foundations. Now, it is on more solid footing, and I feel more confident about the next stage of where I am heading.
In case you are wondering what I do – I help ultra-busy moms who want to create a business that works around your family and crazy schedule so you know what tasks to prioritize in the small pockets of time you have so you get more accomplished during the day — and finally start to love your business again.
Biz Mom Balance Blueprint will be open August 2024. Stay tuned.
#3: This year has been trial and error finding a working mom routine that works for me. Some days, I would have a work from home mom schedule that worked well. As the weeks progressed, I would have to re-adjust it based on life circumstances. I tried different ways to manage my schedule and how to adjust when life changes at a drop of a hat.
#4: Hubby has been working on a side project to create his own version of Netflix so we can watch movies and TV shows we love. We have collected over 300 movies and TV shows to date. He is creating the database, and we hope it will be completed by the end of this year. Fingers crossed!

Ok, now for the juicy part!
Here are a few things that have happened this year that I would describe as downright woeful– (aka, the not-wins!).
#1 –Slowing down to rebuild the foundations meant slowing down in all areas of business. This was painful to do. My top 5 Gallup Strength Result is futuristic so it was hard not to start working on all the ideas and new products that I really want to create. Constrain has been a habit that has been really necessary but also painful to do.
#2 – With summertime, our small group from church is on hiatus. It has been tough not having our weekly gatherings. It was nice being in a group where other moms understand what it is like to be in this stage of life.
#3 – Is it me or is losing weight harder as you get older? I really miss wearing my clothes from before I was pregnant. There is nothing like a reality check when you walk into your 2 year old son’s room and the first thing he says is “Too small” and points to your shirt. (I was wearing a baggy blue shirt a size bigger than I normally wear).
Thank you for hanging out with me to read the behind the scene blog post of my mid-year review as a working mom from home.
It is not lost on me that you are here, and I hope this blog helps you see we all go through STUFF ~ good and bad ~ and that you are doing an amazing job!
With love,
Dr. Celia
