My hands trembled as I read my tears soaked in the letter to myself.
I attended a virtual workshop with Elizabeth Gilbert in 2020. She spent the time in her soft captivating voice discussing writing letters to oneself from a place of emotion.
What I wrote shocked me:
“I fear this is all I can do and not be anything else”
I didn’t expect my letter to come from a place of fear, but it did.
I knew I was unhappy with my job. I just never realized how much. And I certainly hadn’t recognized that I was scared to change my circumstance.
I let myself have a good cry and then started the next letter.
This time, my letter came from a place of enchantment. The contrast of the aftermath of how I was feeling was like night and day.
After writing this letter, I felt so inspired and light. It was full of wonder, hope and excitement of future possibilities.
It was then that I decided to go to coaching school and become a certified coach.
God uses moments in our lives in ways we never expected.
The virtual workshop with Elizabeth Gilbert changed the trajectory of my career.
It brought to the surface all the feelings, some that I was aware and others that I wasn’t
It also brought on courage, inspiration and hope.
If that didn’t happen, I would not be writing this blog post today.
If that didn’t happen, I would not become a Christian business mindset coach on a mission to help other Christian female entrepreneurs have a thriving business alongside motherhood.
