Episode 29 –

The end of the year brings a special kind of chaos for mom entrepreneurs — the mental load doubles, schedules disappear, and both your business and your family need your attention at the same time. In this psychology-backed episode, Ditch the Overwhelm: Your End Of The Year Productivity Style, we explore why your brain works differently in December and how to support yourself with strategies that match your actual capacity.

Instead of pushing yourself to “finish strong” while secretly falling apart, this episode helps you identify your December productivity personality so you can stop judging yourself and start working with the way your brain naturally operates during this busy season. When you understand your pattern, you can finally ditch the overwhelm and create a more supportive, doable rhythm for your business and your life.

We break down the four end-of-year productivity styles:

✨ The Holiday Sprinter

You begin December with energy and excitement, then crash mid-month. Your early momentum isn’t inconsistency — it’s your nervous system doing too much, too fast. We’ll talk about how to pace your energy without burning out.

✨ The Cozy Avoider

You’re not lazy. You’re not “avoiding your business.” Your overwhelmed brain simply chooses comfort tasks until the noise of the season settles. Learn how to gently nudge yourself forward without pressure.

✨ The Overloaded Octopus

You’re juggling everything — business tasks, holiday logistics, kids’ emotions, endless to-dos — and constantly switching gears. This style doesn’t mean you lack focus; it means you have too much on your plate. You’ll hear how to cut through the noise and land on the one thing that matters most.

✨ The Quiet Strategist

You move slowly, intentionally, or simply need more space this month. Even if it feels like you’re behind, this style is actually creating long-term sustainability. Discover why your slower pace is a strength, not a setback.

What You’ll Learn

  • Why mom entrepreneurs feel uniquely overwhelmed at the end of the year
  • How your nervous system responds to December pressure
  • The four productivity personalities and how to identify yours
  • How to adjust your work style to your bandwidth
  • Ways to reduce guilt and stop comparing your December to anyone else’s

❤️ A Supportive Reminder

You’re not behind — you’re carrying a lot. Your productivity style this month is your brain’s way of keeping you safe, steady, and functioning during a demanding season. When you understand it, you can support yourself with compassion instead of pressure.

Dr. Celia
00:00 – 00:21
Biz Mom, welcome to December, the month where time makes no sense, your calendar multiplies, and someone in the house always needs glitter, batteries, or a last-minute classroom snack. And on top of that, your brain is probably juggling questions like, should I send teachers gifts this week or next? Do we have enough wrapping paper? Should I RSVP yes to that party?

Dr. Celia
00:21 – 00:39
Where are the kids holiday outfits and why are the pants always missing? You sit down to work and suddenly you’re doing mental gymnastics while your laptop waits patiently for you to remember that your business exists. So today we’re going to do something fun. No heavy episode, no emotional deep dives, just a lighthearted episode.

Dr. Celia
00:39 – 00:59
Today, we’re going to figure out your December productivity personality, a.k.a. how your brain naturally behaves when December does December. Because when you know your holiday season brain pattern, your expectation shifts, your self-judgment decreases, and your strategy becomes way more supportive. And no personality is bad.

Dr. Celia
00:59 – 01:12
No personality needs fixing. These are just simply December versions of your nervous system adjusting to a heavier month. So let’s find out who you are in this season together. Let’s start with the personality that shows up with a big December energy.

Dr. Celia
01:13 – 01:28
And I call this the holiday sprinter. The holiday sprinter is a biz mom who comes into December hot. Like you’re like, hey, this month I’m going to finish that project, send those emails, wrap those gifts early, and do all the things. You come in with that excited momentum and a clear plan.

Dr. Celia
01:29 – 01:46
And then around mid-December, your nervous system starts whispering, OK, I’m done now. And the crash hits. This is not about inconsistency. This is about your brain using adrenaline early in the month and then running out midway, especially with shifting schedules, emotional labor, and sensory overload.

Dr. Celia
01:48 – 02:04
So a few years ago, I had this really optimistic plan. I was going to wrap all my gifts early, prepare my emails ahead of time for my email list and have this beautifully calm Christmas. And the first week, I was unstoppable. I was basically like Mrs. Santa Claus with a laptop.

Dr. Celia
02:04 – 02:31
And then week two hit and suddenly I was like eating leftover cookies for breakfast, wondering why I could not get myself to open Google Doc. And then I realized that my brain had sprinted into December with such enthusiasm, and then December sprinted back at me. And this is what I want you to take home, that your early December momentum is not a flaw when it fades. It’s just your brain doing its best with the energy it had at that moment, but it was just too much and it lost momentum.

Dr. Celia
02:33 – 02:51
So next up, let’s talk about the personality that wants to hibernate. I call this the cozy avoider. The cozy avoider is someone who prefers to do comfortable tasks until the big hurrah of the holidays are over. So the cozy avoider is not unmotivated.

Dr. Celia
02:51 – 03:08
They’re not lazy and they’re not falling off. They’re simply more of a mom business owner whose nervous system is saying, I have nothing left for big decisions right now. So I’m going to tuck into comfortable tasks until the season passes. And you might notice yourself doing this if you’re a cozy avoider.

Dr. Celia
03:08 – 03:34
Rearranging the pantry instead of sending a marketing email, organizing the gift bag drawer, alphatizing spices, or even Googling cookie recipes or cleaning your car instead of writing that one piece of content. The reason for this is your brain is choosing what it understands over pressure. Avoiding business tasks in December isn’t avoidance, it’s preservation. So if this sounds like you, the part that I want to land is this.

Dr. Celia
03:34 – 03:55
Your brain is not avoiding work, it’s trying to create a sense of safety while everything else in your life is feeling loud. All right, so this one might make you laugh because it’s a lot of us and I call this the overloaded octopus. The reason why I chose octopus is that like my son and I were listening to the science podcast episode and it was all about octopus. I’m like, hey, that name works.

Dr. Celia
03:56 – 04:25
So the overload octopus is juggling everything, business tasks, teacher gifts, travel plans, bathroom cleanup, kids emotions, your emotions and missing tape and whatever that mystery charges on your credit card is like all of it. So you start doing one thing, then bounce to another, and another, and then wonder, what did I exactly accomplish today? So research shows that task switching can reduce productivity by up to 40%. And December is basically one long task switching marathon.

Dr. Celia
04:26 – 04:42
So here’s what I want you to hold on to. Nothing is wrong with your focus. Your brain is simply being pulled in way too many directions at once. And finally, the one who feels behind but is actually doing something really smart, I call this the quiet strategist.

Dr. Celia
04:42 – 04:55
And the quiet strategist moves slowly in December on purpose, or because their nervous system is slowing them down. So if you’re a quiet strategist, you may be noticed that you do this. You’re thinking more deeply. You’re making more intentional choices.

Dr. Celia
04:55 – 05:08
You’re doing less, but you’re doing it well. You’re taking more time to reset. And you’re prioritizing energy over output. But the world is telling you that you’re falling behind when really you’re building sustainability.

Dr. Celia
05:09 – 05:23
This personality is amazing for long term business health, but December guilt can make you feel like something’s wrong with you. So if this is you, here’s the part I want you to remember. Slower does not mean behind. Slower is a strategy when your brain knows it needs space.

Dr. Celia
05:25 – 05:54
Okay, so now that you heard the types, let’s talk about why this even matters. Because when you understand your December productivity personality, you could stop blaming yourself, you could stop forcing strategies that don’t match your brain in this season, and you could start choosing support that actually fits your bandwidth. And this is where the Pocket Coach Bot fits in so naturally, because each one of these personalities struggle with decision overload in different ways. If you’re a holiday sprinter, you may need something that helps you pace yourself and not burn out mid-month.

Dr. Celia
05:55 – 06:29
Or if you’re a cozy avoider, you may need someone to hand you one small step instead of a giant to-do list. And even if you’re like an overloaded octopus, you may need a way to cut through all the interruptions and land on one priority. And if you’re a quiet strategist, you may need a gentle structure that does not add pressure or noise. And this is why the Biz Mom Pocket Coach Bot feels like such a relief during December, because it helps you offload mental load, make fewer decisions, pick the one thing that matters, and move forward even on the messy days.

Dr. Celia
06:29 – 06:48
It’s not a planner, it’s not a system, it’s not a 40-step productivity method. It’s a soft landing spot for your overwhelmed brain. So, Biz Mom, whether you’re a holiday sprinter, a cozy avoider, an overloaded octopus, or a quiet strategist, you are not behind. You are not inconsistent.

Dr. Celia
06:48 – 07:15
You’re simply a mom business owner navigating a season that demands more than usual from your brain and your heart. So if you’re listening and thinking, okay, I know my December personality now, but I need help choosing what my next business step should be in this chaos of December. That’s exactly why I created the Bizbomb Pocket Coach Bot. It’s there for the KI days, I Cannot Think days, the Everything Feels Urgent days, and even when my brain won’t cooperate days.

Dr. Celia
07:15 – 07:33
It gives you a simple doable next step based on where you are right now. No guilt, no overwhelm. So if you want to explore it and see how it supports your December brain, you find the link in the show notes. And because you tuned into the episode all the way to the end, I’m going to give you a special discount.

Dr. Celia
07:33 – 07:50
Coupon code is called PODCAST, P-O-D-C-A-S-T, in all capital letters, for you to get $9 off the bot. So your total price would be $70 instead of $79. And I also want to mention no pressure. This is just support if you need it.

Dr. Celia
07:50 – 08:03
I’m so glad we kicked off this December series together. Next week’s episode will help you go even deeper into what your business actually needs this month based on this personality. I’ll talk to you next week.
